Warranty, Guarantee and Withdrawal
Information for the premium, custom-made stone and wood small furniture (side and coffee tables) of AOC – Art of Cosy Home.
1. Statutory Warranty
Our products are subject to the mandatory warranty rules in force in Hungary, as they qualify as furniture. The warranty period depends on the product’s gross retail price:
- For a retail price between HUF 10,000 and HUF 250,000: 2 years mandatory warranty
- For a retail price above HUF 250,000: 3 years mandatory warranty
The warranty period begins on the day the product is handed over to the consumer. During the warranty period, the customer may request free repair, replacement, or, in certain cases, a refund of the purchase price.
What the warranty covers
- If the defect cannot be remedied during the first repair attempt, the product will be replaced or, if replacement is not possible, the purchase price will be refunded.
- If, after three repairs, the defect recurs, the customer may request replacement or a refund of the purchase price.
- Repairs are performed within 15 days; if this is not possible, we will provide written information about the expected deadline.
- Warranty claims must be submitted in writing, with the purchase invoice attached.
What the warranty does not cover
- Natural variations in the veining, color and pattern of natural materials (marble, limestone, wood).
- Damage resulting from improper use, incorrect handling, storage, or maintenance.
- Damage caused by accident, moisture, heat, scratches, impact, or chemicals.
The warranty certificate is sent electronically (by email) and remains available for the entire warranty period.
2. Statutory Guarantee (Kellékszavatosság)
In addition to the warranty, the consumer is also entitled to statutory guarantee rights. A guarantee claim can be asserted within 2 years from the date of delivery.
The customer may request repair or replacement of the product; if these are not possible, they may request a price reduction or withdraw from the contract. Within 1 year from the date of purchase, it is presumed that the defect already existed at the time of performance; therefore, during this period, the burden of proof lies with the business.
3. Product Guarantee (Termékszavatosság)
If the product is defective, the consumer may also request repair or replacement from the manufacturer within 2 years from the product’s placement on the market.
4. Right of Withdrawal – Custom Orders
In our webshop, many products are made to order (based on size, shape, and material selection). According to the applicable legislation, for such products that are not pre-fabricated and are produced specifically at the consumer’s request or to their personal specifications, the 14-day right of withdrawal without justification does not apply.
Not considered a defect:
- variation in the grain and color tone of natural stone and wood,
- surface pattern differences inherent to the natural origin of the raw material,
- minor, non-functional deviations typical of handmade items.
5. Fault Reporting and Service
We accept fault reports in writing:
Please attach the proof of purchase, a brief description of the defect, and a photo or video. We begin processing reports within 5 business days and will inform you in writing about the next steps.
6. Legal Remedies
- Submitting a complaint to the competent conciliation board
- Initiating a procedure with the consumer protection authority
- Taking legal action through civil court proceedings
